FALLON, NV (May 10, 2024) — Fans of Frey Ranch® Distillery are in for a rare treat, as the farm-to-glass whiskey producer today released a limited-edition Frey Ranch 100% Wheat Whiskey Single Barrel. Bottled at cask strength and made with 100% soft white winter wheat grown exclusively on the Frey Ranch farm, Frey Ranch 100% Wheat Whiskey Single Barrel is the first cask strength whiskey from the brand’s Single Grain Series. Available online at FreyRanch.com, Frey Ranch 100% Wheat Whiskey Single Barrel has a suggested retail price of $114.00 for a 750 ml bottle. The new release comes as the brand celebrates its 10th year of distilling in Northern Nevada.

Our slow grown grains are at the core of who we are as an American Whiskey brand, so we’ll continue to experiment with different mashbills that showcase the high quality and unique flavor profiles of these single grain variations. Frey Ranch 100% Wheat Whiskey Single Barrel is the first cask strength release from our Single Grain Series, and we’re looking forward to sharing this with the whiskey community.

Colby Frey, Co-Founder and Whiskey Farmer

Ranging from 58.4% ABV (116.8 proof) to 67.2% ABV (134.4 proof) dependent on the barrel, the barrels were aged between six years and two months to seven years and eight months. On the nose and tongue, the whiskey is a “sugar bomb” with aromas of butterscotch, butter cream frosting, and custard, yielding to a palate-pleaser of birthday cake and milk chocolate. The sipping experience caps off with a finish that delivers vanilla extract, vanilla bean, and espresso. The whiskey is best served neat or on the rocks to truly capture its grain-forward flavor.

The new Frey Ranch 100% Wheat Whiskey Single Barrel is another prime example of Frey Ranch’s commitment to centering its whiskey enterprise around their grains and farming background first and foremost. The winter wheat is cultivated by “Whiskey Farmer” Colby Frey during the farm’s annual Whiskey Harvest, and then milled, distilled, aged, and bottledon-site at the farm + distillery.

Using his own slow-grown grains that take Northern Nevada’s climate, topography and terroir into consideration provides Colby with almost unlimited freedom to experiment with different grain varieties and blends. Valuing a common-sense approach tosustainable farming, Colby, along with Master Distiller Russell Wedlake, built a distillery born from a desire to create a distinctive, long-lasting product from the quality grains the Frey family has been growing and perfecting for generations.

As the American Whiskey brand celebrates its 10-year anniversary in 2024, Frey Ranch has become one of the top-selling ultra-premium bourbons in Nevada and California, and one of the largest whiskey producers on the West Coast. In 2023, Frey Ranch Distillery won ‘Spirits Brand of the Year’ at VinePair’s Next Wave Awards. The brand was also a 2023 recipient of Northern Nevada Business Weekly’s Best in Business in the ‘Nevada Grown & Raised’ category.
