The Texas Distillery’s Ranch Reserve Series is a new collection of limited-release bourbons focused on secondary maturation in specialty finishing casks.

The inaugural lineup includes Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in PX Sherry Casks and Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks.

According to the distillery, both expressions begin as Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey aged four years in new toasted and charred American white oak barrels before spending an additional four years in sherry casks sourced from Spain. Each release is aged a total of eight years.

PX and Oloroso Releases Showcase Different Sherry Profiles

The PX Sherry Cask Finished Bourbon utilizes casks from Pedro Ximénez sherry production and is bottled at 109 proof. Garrison Brothers states the finishing process contributes notes of toffee, caramel, figs, and candied fruit, alongside what the company describes as a long and luxurious finish. The bourbon carries a suggested retail price of $149.99.

The Oloroso Sherry Cask Finished Bourbon is bottled at 110 proof and finished in Oloroso sherry casks sourced from Jerez, Spain. According to the distillery, the whiskey develops notes of walnut and baking spice, resulting in a more savory and structured profile. It also carries a suggested retail price of $149.99.

“These two releases share the same Texas bourbon backbone and deliver two different sherry traditions. One dark and decadent and the other, savory and structured. These are beautiful in color and remarkable in taste,” said Donnis Todd, Master Distiller, Garrison Brothers.

New Packaging Debuts With Ranch Reserve Series

The Ranch Reserve Series introduces a new bottle design for the distillery. Each bottle features a leather-style band across the front, walnut-colored wax dipping, and dedicated Ranch Reserve branding.

Garrison Brothers stated that each expression produced approximately 6,000 bottles. The distillery plans to initially release both bourbons at the distillery in Hye, Texas, beginning June 27, 2026, before expanding availability online and into select markets.

Distillery Release Event Scheduled for June 27

A special distillery release event is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, beginning at 8 a.m. at Garrison Brothers Distillery. The event will mark the first opportunity for consumers to purchase the inaugural Ranch Reserve Series expressions directly from the distillery.
