New Core Expression Marks New Era for Iconic Wheated Bourbon Brand
Heaven Hill Distillery has introduced the Old Fitzgerald 7-Year-Old Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey as the brand’s new signature expression. This marks a significant milestone for the historic brand, which traces its roots back to 1884. The new release follows in the footsteps of the limited-edition Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Decanter Series, offering a more widely available option for Bourbon enthusiasts.
Bottled-in-Bond Wheated Bourbon Aged to Perfection
The 7-Year-Old expression is a 100-proof wheated Bourbon made from a mashbill of 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley. Aged in Level 3 charred new American oak barrels, the whiskey presents a bright copper color with tasting notes that include graham crackers and honey on the nose, followed by brown sugar, baking spices, and oak on the finish. “Seven years proved to be a sweet spot for a Whiskey that already transcends expectations for a wheated Bourbon,” said Master Distiller Conor O’Driscoll.
Packaging Honors Brand Heritage and Hospitality Legacy
The new release features updated packaging that pays tribute to Old Fitzgerald’s vintage identity. The refreshed bottle includes a fluted shoulder, diamond-faceted closure, and a red diagonal logo reminiscent of the original 1884 trademark. The phrase “Your Key to Hospitality” appears on the label and is molded into the bottom of the bottle—an homage to the brand’s historical advertising.
Continued Commitment to Bottled-in-Bond Standards
Heaven Hill, which holds the most Bottled-in-Bond labels in the industry, affirms its dedication to this quality standard with the release. Each bottle of Old Fitzgerald 7-Year-Old includes the distillation season and year on the neck wrap, in line with Bottled-in-Bond transparency requirements. The expression is priced at approximately $59.99 for a 700ml bottle and will be available nationwide in early summer 2025.
Legacy Rooted in American Whiskey History
The Old Fitzgerald brand has a rich heritage that spans more than 140 years. Originally sold aboard steamships and in private clubs, the brand survived Prohibition and was eventually acquired by Heaven Hill in 1999. “It mirrors my family’s story in many ways,” said Heaven Hill Executive Chairman Max Shapira. “Throughout decades of changes, Old Fitzgerald has stood the test of time and maintained its unwavering commitment to quality.”
Nationwide Rollout and Consumer Experiences to Follow
The launch will be supported by consumer activations and partnerships designed to showcase the brand’s hospitality roots. Full details on events and experiences will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information, visit OldFitzgeraldBourbon.com.
