The House of Suntory is bringing back Hibiki 12 Years Old to global travel retail for the first time in 11 years, introducing a newly reimagined blend exclusively for international airport retailers.
The Hibiki 12 Years Old Travel Exclusive Series combines Japanese whisky craftsmanship with a new bottle design inspired by the country’s natural beauty and traditional artistry.
Reimagined by fifth-generation Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo, the new Hibiki 12 Years Old brings together whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita, with maturation across American oak, Spanish oak and Mizunara oak. The blend is designed to emphasize Hibiki’s signature harmony and elegance while offering a fresh interpretation of the 12-year-old expression.
The packaging draws from Kacho-Fugetsu, a traditional Japanese concept celebrating flowers, birds, wind and moon, along with the flowing beauty of water. Hibiki’s recognizable 24-faceted bottle, representing Japan’s 24 microseasons, remains at the center of the design. A new Marumado motif—a circular architectural window traditionally used to frame views of nature—also features prominently on the updated packaging.
Hibiki 12 Years Old pours a golden amber color, with aromas of persimmon, jasmine, cardamom, orange and sandalwood. The palate brings spiced orange peel, toasted cinnamon and butterscotch before leading into a rich, lingering finish with a soothing spiced character. The House of Suntory recommends enjoying the whisky over a “Marugori” hand-carved ice ball.
The Hibiki 12 Years Old Travel Exclusive is presented in a 700mL bottle with a recommended retail price of approximately $188. The release debuted at Dubai Duty Free in May, with availability expanding across select global travel retail locations beginning in mid-2026. Airport locations include Singapore Changi, New York’s JFK, London, Incheon, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris, Doha, Sydney and other major international travel hubs.
