COLUMBUS, KY – The Ingram Distillery has officially opened its historic grounds to the public, offering a first-of-its-kind look at the world’s only floating barrelhouse operation. Perched on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, the distillery also announced a landmark partnership with One Mississippi, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring the nation’s most iconic waterway.+1
Experience “Mellowed on the Mississippi”
Visitors can now step aboard custom-built grain barges to witness the “River Aging” process firsthand. This unique maturation method uses the river’s natural motion, high humidity, and intense temperature cycles to create the award-winning complexity found in Ingram’s whiskies.
The distillery is offering three distinct tour tiers:
- Barge to Bottle Classic Tour: A foundational look at river aging.
- Chartered Experience: A private tour featuring exclusive tastings.
- Mellow on the Mississippi Retreat: A premium curated evening including a chef-led dinner and overnight stay.
“We couldn’t be more excited to open our grounds to the public and announce our partnership with One Mississippi – an organization that cares as deeply as we do about the Mississippi,” said Founder Hank Ingram. “Not only are we blessed with such a beautiful property overlooking the river, it is the history of this place that makes it truly special. Visitors will be able to soak all that in while getting a first-hand look into how we age our whiskies on the Mississippi River. It’s this combination of history and innovation, of art and science, that inspired The Ingram Distillery. We are proud to share our story and our home with the public.”
A Partnership for the River
The collaboration with One Mississippi launches just in time for Earth Day. From April 22–26, The Ingram Distillery will donate 10% of all sales (on-site and online) to the nonprofit. The distillery will also serve as a key supporter of the River Days of Action, running June 1–15, with special celebrations planned for Mississippi River Day on June 2.+1
“The unique and deep connection of their award-winning whiskies to the Mississippi River make The Ingram Distillery a natural partner in One Mississippi’s work to protect this great waterway,” said Kelly McGinnis, Executive Director for One Mississippi. “This Earth Day celebration is the beginning of a relationship that we are confident will have a tremendous impact on our efforts.”
Growth and Availability
The opening follows a milestone year for the brand, which included the launch of the 2025 O.H. Ingram Flagship Bourbon and the debut of Uncharted, a Kentucky wheated bourbon that recently took home a “Gold Outstanding” medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition. Ingram spirits are now available in eight states, including recent expansions into Alaska and Texas.
