Maker’s Mark and Keeneland Launch 2025 “Greats of the Gate” Commemorative Bottle

Keeneland Race Course and Maker’s Mark have unveiled the second release in their “Greats of the Gate” series, a 10-year collection honoring legendary Thoroughbred racehorses.

The 2025 commemorative bottle will pay tribute to the iconic racehorse Lexington, who raced from 1853 to 1855 and became famous for winning six of seven races. This limited-edition bottle will be available starting April 11th, coinciding with the $650,000 Maker’s Mark Mile (G1) at Keeneland’s Spring Meet.

Honoring a Racing Legend: Lexington

Lexington, one of the most renowned horses in Thoroughbred history, will be the focal point of this year’s release. In 1855, Lexington was sold to stud for a record price, cementing his place in horse racing lore. The commemorative bottle will feature artwork by Kentucky artist Tyler Robertson, with the horse’s signature orange and black racing silks wrapping around the bottle. The bottle’s crown will be dipped in orange wax and finished with a white silk ribbon, making it a true collector’s item.

Supporting Kentucky Nonprofits with Every Bottle

A key aspect of the “Greats of the Gate” series is its philanthropic impact. Proceeds from the bottle sales will support several Kentucky-based nonprofits, including Kentucky Classic Arts, Kentucky Harvest, Kentucky Arts Center of the Bluegrass, and Blue Grass Farms Charities. Through this initiative, Keeneland and Maker’s Mark aim to raise $4 million over the next decade to support Kentucky’s horse racing industry and the cultural and philanthropic organizations that contribute to the state’s vibrant community.

Availability and Pricing Details

The 2025 “Greats of the Gate” commemorative bottle will be available exclusively at select Kentucky retailers that carry Maker’s Mark. It will retail for a suggested price of $179.99. Each bottle will include a certificate of authenticity signed by key figures from Maker’s Mark and Keeneland, including Rob Samuels, Shannon Arvin, Tyler Robertson, and Bret Jones.
