Discover the New Single Estate Whiskey Collection from Minden Mill

The Minden Mill Single Estate Whiskey Collection includes three unique styles of whiskey, each complementing the others while maintaining a unique flavor profile.

Fast Facts about Minden Mill Whiskey:

  • Nevada Straight Bourbon Whiskey ($44.99): A modern take on classic American whiskey, this bourbon is crafted with 60% Earth Tone heirloom corn, 20% rye, 10% barley, and 10% oats. It features notes of cherry cola, vanilla, and light spices, with a long, sweet finish. Aged four years in new charred American and French oak. ABV 47%. Non-chill filtered.
  • Nevada Straight Rye Whiskey ($44.99): A spicier, warmer whiskey with hints of candied fruits. This rye is crafted with 80% rye, 10% wheat, and 10% barley. This ratio was designed to highlight the candied orange peel reflective of the Carson Valley terroir. Aged four years in new charred American and French oak. ABV 47%. Non-chill filtered.
  • American Single Malt ($59.99): Our process is one of the world’s most innovative. Combining cutting-edge heating systems with Forsyth stills, Scotland’s premier still manufacturers. Made with 100% estate-grown barley that is malted on site, this expression offers an elevated flavor profile with notes of coffee and almond, ideal for those seeking something new from American whiskey. Aged five years in a barrel regime of Oloroso sherry, ex-bourbon, and American oak casks. ABV 47%. Non-chill filtered.

According to the brand, the bourbon and rye were crafted using specific grain varietals that thrive in the short growing season of the high desert, using only Sierra Nevada Mountain snowmelt sourced from the well just steps from the distillery doors, and distilled in a state-of-the-art Christian CARL hybrid still. The American single malt was crafted in rare Forsyth stills, some of the few in the United States.

Foley Family Wines & Spirits (FFWS), a family-owned company based in Sonoma County, is expanding its reach into the spirits market with the launch of Minden Mill Single Estate Whiskeys. Crafted at the Minden Mill Distillery in Nevada, these whiskeys are made from estate-grown grains and pure snowmelt from the Sierra Nevada mountains. The distillery, which FFWS began operating in May 2023, produces whiskeys using a unique process that controls every step of production, from grain sourcing to bottling, making it one of the few distilleries in the world to operate as a true estate distillery.

Minden Mill is committed to estate distilling, with 85% of raw materials sourced from its own land within a five-mile radius. This process allows the distillery to capture the unique terroir of the Carson Valley, where the Minden Mill Distillery is located. The whiskeys are crafted under the guidance of Master Distiller Joe O’Sullivan, a leader in the American Single Malt Whiskey Commission. The distillery uses climate-controlled rickhouses and draws inspiration from whiskey regions like Scotland’s Speyside and Kentucky’s Nelson County for its aging process.

Minden Mill whiskeys will be available in select markets including Nevada, Arizona, California, Colorado, and Illinois, with prices ranging from $44.99 to $59.99. They will also be available for purchase online at mindenmill.com. The distillery, located in two historic buildings that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, offers tastings and tours to visitors. Minden Mill joins FFWS’s diverse portfolio of premium spirits, which includes High Ground Estate Vodka, Charles Goodnight Bourbon, and the Loch Lomond Group’s Scotch and other spirits. The company’s name change to Foley Family Wines & Spirits reflects its growing commitment to the spirits industry.
