Neat Bourbon Bar Expands with New Location which Opened May 16 in the Heart of Bourbon Country
Neat Bourbon Bar & Bottle Shop officially opened its second location in Bardstown, Kentucky, on Thursday, May 16, 2025. The new bar is located at 110 West Stephen Foster Avenue. This marks a significant expansion for the bar, which first opened in 2022 in Louisville’s Cherokee Triangle neighborhood.
The Bardstown opening places Neat in the center of Kentucky’s bourbon tourism industry. In a recent social media post, Neat stated, “Come join us to celebrate and enjoy our signature bourbon selection in the heart of the Bourbon Capital.”
Award-Winning Reputation in the Bourbon Scene
Neat’s original Louisville location has received national recognition for its curated selection of vintage and rare bourbons. In 2024, USA Today named Neat among the Top 27 Bars in America, after reviewing over 67,000 bars nationwide. Neat was the only Kentucky bar to be featured in the list.
“We are honored to receive this recognition and hope that it brings more interest to Kentucky and its bourbon industry,” said co-owner Danie Powell.
Founded on Passion for Bourbon and Kentucky History
Founded by Danie and Owen Powell, Neat Bourbon Bar & Bottle Shop is rooted in a shared passion for bourbon and Kentucky’s rich distilling heritage. The couple launched the first location in 2022 under the guiding motto: “History By The Pour®.” Neat quickly earned a reputation for its warm atmosphere, inclusive approach, and focus on education around dusty bourbon and local history.
Neat has also been recognized as the #1 Bourbon Bar in America by National Geographic, and dubbed “Kentucky’s Dustiest Whiskey Bar” by Whisky Advocate. National outlets such as The Wall Street Journal have praised the venue for its community-driven approach and rare bottle selection.
A New Destination for Bourbon Enthusiasts
With its Bardstown opening, Neat Bourbon Bar is positioned to serve a broader audience of bourbon enthusiasts, tourists, and industry professionals. The expansion reflects the continued growth of bourbon culture in Kentucky and adds a new destination for those exploring the Bourbon Trail®.
