With a unique mash bill and its rich, 10-year age statement, Old Forester 1924 is a gem for bourbon enthusiasts. Unlike traditional Old Forester recipes, the 1924 release features a mash bill of 79% corn, 11% rye, and 10% malted barley. This mashbill and decade long maturation promises a complex flavor profile. Part of the Whiskey Row Series, this bourbon commemorates the brand’s resilience during Prohibition, when Old Forester was one of the few distilleries to remain operational. In 1924, Old Forester acquired barrels from closed Kentucky distilleries and blended them, marking a defining moment in the brand’s 153-year legacy.
With tasting notes of chocolate-covered graham cracker, soft hints of cocoa, marzipan, and rich oak, Old Forester 1924 offers a distinct, dynamic profile. It is available for purchase nationwide at a suggested retail price of $119.99.
After such a quick sell-out last year, this re-release gives more whiskey drinkers the chance to taste – and love – this dynamic expression.
– Master Taster Melissa Rift
