Pursuit Spirits Opens New Whiskey Row Destination Combining Whiskey Education, Retail, and Cocktails.
Pursuit Spirits, founded by Bourbon Pursuit podcast hosts Ryan Cecil and Kenny Coleman, will open Pursuit Spirits on Whiskey Row on Thursday, August 14. The new 7,600-square-foot, two-story venue offers a full retail shop, multiple tasting room experiences, the new Bourbon Pursuit podcast studio, and a cocktail lounge called Trial + Error. Located in a restored early 20th-century building, the space blends historic features with modern design, including a glass floor over a former elevator shaft and a vault converted into a private seating area. Pursuit Spirits on Whiskey Row is located at 722 W. Main Street, Suite 100, Louisville KY 40202.
Immersive Bourbon Experiences for Whiskey Row Visitors
Guests can participate in interactive whiskey sessions that go beyond traditional distillery tours. The new location will continue hosting its marquee tastings, The Whole Shebang! and Discover The Pursuit, while adding three new experiences:
- Mellwood Past and Present – A 45-minute session exploring the Mellwood Distillery’s history and Pursuit Spirits’ modern revival ($35).
- Choose Your Own Cocktail Adventure – A hands-on class where participants craft custom cocktails with guidance from expert bartenders ($40).
- Founder Hour – A 60-minute exclusive with Kenny Coleman or Ryan Cecil, featuring product tastings, R&D projects, barrel samples, and blending demonstrations ($150).
Trial + Error Cocktail Lounge
Located in the lower level, Trial + Error is a bourbon-forward cocktail lounge offering over 100 Pursuit Spirits expressions, small bites, and an inventive drink menu. Led by bartender Jordan Harris, the menu includes signature cocktails like the T&E Old Fashioned, Barrel-aged Manhattan, kenNY Sour, and Rye-an Rita, along with rotating creations such as I’m Working Late, Cherry Styles, and Paint the World Pink. The lounge is designed as an approachable, community-focused space for whiskey enthusiasts.
A Physical Extension of the Pursuit Brand

- Trial + Error Cocktail Lounge: Open Tuesday–Thursday | 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Open Friday–Saturday | 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.
