Westward Whiskey has unveiled its first club-exclusive release for 2025, the Westward x Fort George Brewery Stout Cask. This limited-edition whiskey is a result of the ongoing collaboration between Westward and Fort George Brewery, two iconic Oregon brands. For nearly a decade, Westward has been known for its Stout Cask finished single malts, with Fort George being one of its earliest and most valued partners. This particular release highlights the brewery’s signature Matryoshka Stout, blending the distinctive flavors of both whiskey and beer craftsmanship.
Master Blender Miles Munroe led the development of the Westward x Fort George Brewery Stout Cask using a unique “double stouting” process. The whiskey was initially aged in freshly emptied stout beer casks before being transferred to Fort George’s Matryoshka Stout barrels to deepen the flavors. The result is a whiskey with rich notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee, balanced by subtle sweetness and a full-bodied finish. This release is described as a perfect union of whiskey and stout, celebrating the enduring partnership between Westward and Fort George.

This is new territory for this expression as we focus on one distinct and beloved stout profile and raise the bottling proof to bring balance and more dynamics to the spirit.

It is available exclusively to Westward Whiskey Club members, with access available to over 35 states. This release offers a bold new flavor profile for whiskey lovers, marking a significant milestone in the collaboration between these two renowned brands.
