Barrel Master Select Rye Batch 1 is the brand’s first-ever barrel proof rye whiskey and bottled at 120.4 proof.

Distilled and matured in Owensboro, Kentucky, this inaugural rye release blends nine hand-selected barrels, all made from a 95% rye mashbill and aged between five years, eight months and six years.

A Collaboration of Kentucky Aging and Rhode Island Finishing

While primary maturation occurred in Kentucky, barrels underwent secondary aging at Wheel Horse Whiskey’s facility in Rhode Island. Barrel Master Stephen Corrigan personally selected each of the nine barrels that form Batch 1, bringing together a marriage of flavor shaped by two climates and two regions.

A Robust 120.4-Proof Rye with Dessert-Driven Aromas

Bottled at 120.4 proof and non-chill filtered, Barrel Master Select Rye Batch 1 delivers a combination of richness and spice. The whiskey opens with aromas of crème brûlée and chai spice, followed by a palate featuring brown sugar and praline. Mid-palate, the sweetness shifts into spicier tones of clove-studded orange and cinnamon candies, finishing long with notes of molasses, anise candies, and pipe tobacco.

Limited to 1,800 Bottles Nationwide

Only 1,800 bottles of Batch 1 were produced, making this a notably limited release within the growing Wheel Horse portfolio. Despite its age, proof, and select-barrel status, the whiskey maintains an accessible SRP of $39.99.

Available in 15 States and Online Nationwide

Barrel Master Select Rye Batch 1 is now available at retail in approximately 15 U.S. states, with additional availability in over 30 states through online retailers.
