WhistlePig Announces New Bourbon and Brand Home in Kentucky

Go Pig or Go Home: WhistlePig Announces Snout-to-Tail Bourbon and “PiggyBank” Brand Home in Downtown Louisville.

WhistlePig Whiskey, known for its rye whiskies, is looking to make its mark in bourbon with the introduction of WhistlePig Snout-to-Tail Bourbon — Aged 10 Years. This new bourbon features a unique maturation process where barrels are flipped 180 degrees, with two different toasted barrel heads — Vermont oak medium toast at the “snout” end and Vermont oak smoked maple wood toast at the “tail.” The result is a bold and complex straight bourbon with flavors such as honey, brown sugar, roasted almonds, and cedar. Bottled at 88 proof, the bourbon nods to WhistlePig’s new outpost in Louisville, Kentucky, located 880 miles from its Vermont farm.

WhistlePig is also expanding its presence in bourbon country with the opening of The WhistlePig PiggyBank in Louisville, Kentucky, in the summer of 2025. The interactive space will offer exclusive tastings, a “big pig bar,” and an exhibit featuring WhistlePig’s rarest whiskeys.

Meghan Ireland, WhistlePig’s Head Blender, shared her enthusiasm for the new release, noting, “Snout-to-Tail Bourbon takes toasted barrel aging to ten with bold flavors and new complexity earned before and after the barrel flip.” She emphasized the unique characteristics of the bourbon, highlighting the sweetness from honey and brown sugar and the savory complexity of roasted almonds and baked cornbread.

WhistlePig Snout-to-Tail Bourbon will be available for $89.99 per 750mL bottle starting January 29, 2025, online and in stores nationwide.
