Commemorative 10-year, barrel-proof bourbon release.

Wilderness Trail Distillery unveiled a limited-edition 10-Year Wheated Bourbon released December 12, 2025, to mark the 250th anniversary of The Wilderness Road. The expression is a barrel-proof, small-batch bourbon and represents only the second public 10-year release from Wilderness Trail.

Unique mash bill and single small-batch blend

The commemorative edition uses a mash bill the distillery says it has never bottled before: 51% corn, 45% wheat, and 4% malted barley. For this release Wilderness Trail’s co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Pat Heist and the distilling team hand-selected three standout 10-year barrels and blended them into a single barrel-proof offering.

Created with craftsmanship and character

“We intended for this release to embody the same balance, character, and discovery that defined the Wilderness Road itself,” remarked Dr. Heist. “These barrels represent ten years of patience and precision, and this blend has resulted in a bourbon with incredible harmony that showcases deep oak, vivid sweetness, and a finish that lingers.”

Visitor center exclusive, limited availability

Wilderness Trail says the release will be available exclusively at the Wilderness Trail Distillery Visitor Center beginning December 12, 2025. The distillery notes that only a limited number of bottles will be offered and that no additional releases of this exact mash bill are planned.
