Woodford Reserve has launched a new limited-edition release as part of its Distillery Series: Chocolate Whisper Redux 139.4. This special bottling marks a milestone for the brand, with the highest-proof offering to date at 139.4 proof. The 12-year-old bourbon builds on the distillery’s prior 2021 Chocolate Whisper release, with extended barrel aging contributing to a more complex flavor profile. “A longer barrel age has enhanced its bold flavor notes while preserving the long finish,” said Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall.
The new expression promises a deep, rich flavor experience, with tasting notes of cherry mahogany color, chocolate, toasted oak, and spices on the nose. Flavors include cacao nibs, dark roasted coffee, dried cherry, cranberry, and charred oak, finishing with candied pecan and rich oak. This limited release continues Woodford Reserve’s push of creative boundaries in their Distillery Series.
Chocolate Whisper Redux 139.4 is available in a limited quantity starting February 20, 2025, at the Woodford Reserve Distillery and select Kentucky retailers. It can also be shipped to states where allowed, including Kentucky, New Hampshire, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Washington D.C. The bourbon is priced at a suggested retail of $99.99 and can be purchased online at shop.woodfordreserve.com.
