Woodford Reserve, the Presenting Sponsor of the Kentucky Derby, has unveiled its 2025 commemorative Derby bottle. This annual release honors the Kentucky Derby, one of the most prestigious events in the world of horse racing. The 2025 bottle features the artwork of Humberto Lahera, a Cuban artist known for his photorealistic paintings that merge classical techniques with modern influences.
Lahera’s painting, titled “Carrera Dinamica” (Dynamic Race), captures the essence of the Kentucky Derby with vivid colors, expressive brushstrokes, and fluid motion. The artwork aims to reflect the energy and excitement of the race. Lahera, who now resides in Louisville, Kentucky, expressed his appreciation for being chosen to represent the Derby. “Being selected as the artist for this year’s Derby bottle is an incredible honor,” Lahera said. “My work is deeply influenced by my Cuban heritage and my journey as an artist in Kentucky.”
The one-liter bottle has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $49.99 and is available for purchase globally. It is available for sale today on ReserveBar, as well as at the Woodford Reserve Distillery and online store starting March 5. Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall praised Lahera’s work, stating, “Humberto’s ability to blend rich colors and movement perfectly captures the excitement and tradition of the Kentucky Derby.”
Woodford Reserve’s annual Derby bottle has been a collector’s item since its debut in 1999. Lahera’s selection as this year’s artist adds a unique Cuban perspective to the long-standing tradition of celebrating the Kentucky Derby.
