It was a banner year for Booker’s Bourbon last year, according to my palate! Each of the releases lived up to a premium small batch product from Jim Beam. I was excited, but nervous, to try “Charlie’s Batch”, as I was enamored with all four releases last year! Let’s dive in to my thoughts below:
Just the Facts: Charlie’s Batch
- Proof: 126.6
- Age: 7 years, 1 month, 8 days
- Mash bill: 77% corn/ 13% rye/ 10% malted barley
- Style: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Jake’s Tasting Notes: Charlie’s Batch
Nose: This is one of the most floral Booker’s I have ever smelled. It’s balanced with peanut, oak, and caramel.
Palate: the floral notes subside and give way to traditional Booker’s flavor. Peanut butter, oak, and caramel.
Finish: Lingering peanut butter and oak tannins.
Closing Thoughts:
Charlie’s Batch picks up right where last year’s batches left off. This one drinks warmer than the four releases from 2022, but it meets the standard that everyone has come to love with Booker’s Bourbon.
