Bib & Tucker Introduces First Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon, an 8-Year-Old Tennessee High-Rye

Bib & Tucker is expanding its Tennessee whiskey lineup with its first Bottled-in-Bond bourbon, an 8-year-old high-rye expression that will launch nationally in September 2026. The new bourbon meets the strict requirements of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 while aging for twice the minimum four-year requirement.

Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), Bib & Tucker 8-Year-Old Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon was distilled during a single season in spring 2018 at Tennessee Distilling Group in Columbia, Tennessee, and aged for eight years in new American oak.

Bib & Tucker Embraces the Bottled-in-Bond Standard

The Bottled-in-Bond designation requires whiskey to be distilled during a single distillation season by one distiller at one distillery, aged for a minimum of four years in a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at exactly 100 proof.

Bib & Tucker’s new release meets each of those requirements while extending the aging period to eight years.

The bourbon was distilled in spring 2018 at Tennessee Distilling Group and matured for eight years before being bottled at 100 proof. The release also uses a Tennessee high-rye mash bill, providing additional spice and structure compared with more traditional bourbon recipes.

First Release Led by Bib & Tucker Apprentice Blender

Bib & Tucker Apprentice Blender James Joseph stewarded the new Bottled-in-Bond bourbon under Master Blender Alan Kennedy. The release marks Joseph’s first for the brand and represents another generation of whiskey-making knowledge being passed down through the blending team.

Joseph selected and blended mature barrels distilled during the spring 2018 distillation season, focusing on casks that developed balance and character through eight years of maturation.

“Something I’ve learned from my mentors in this industry is that, when it comes to blending whiskey, your job is to recognize when the whiskey is ready,” said James Joseph, Apprentice Blender at Bib & Tucker. “With our first Bottled-in-Bond release, I had the opportunity to work within a standard that’s been respected for generations, so every choice came back to the quality in the barrel and letting the flavors express themselves.”

Tennessee High-Rye Bourbon Offers a Rich, Spiced Profile

The new bourbon features a Tennessee high-rye mash bill, with corn primarily sourced within 100 miles of the distillery. The whiskey undergoes the Lincoln County Process for charcoal mellowing and is aged in new American oak barrels for at least eight years.

Bib & Tucker uses minimal non-chill filtration for the expression, allowing more of the whiskey’s character and texture to remain in the bottle.

On the nose, vanilla custard and seasoned oak lead into a palate featuring crème brûlée, leather, hickory, dried apricot and honeysuckle. The finish is described as long and warm, with sweet oak alongside allspice and orange blossom.

The bourbon is intended to be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, while its 100-proof bottling also makes it a candidate for classic cocktails such as an Old Fashioned.

Bib & Tucker Bottled-in-Bond Earns 92 Points at SFWSC

Bib & Tucker 8-Year-Old Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon has already received recognition ahead of its national release. The bourbon earned a Gold Medal and 92-point score at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

“For me, it wasn’t about making a whiskey that chased a trend, it was about selecting and blending barrels that could meet a standard that generations of distillers believed was worth protecting,” Joseph said. “When you start with well-made whiskey and stay disciplined throughout the process, you don’t have to manufacture a story. The whiskey tells it for you.”
