Scott’s Tasting Notes: Bluebird Days Whiskey
- Nose: Sweet corn and rye bread, a little “pot still” funk with dark brown sugar and roasted almonds.
- Palate: Corny goodness! Very traditional bourbon notes. Nuttiness and roasted cinnamon almonds, buttery cornbread, and a lingering peppery note.
- Finish: Finish was short and not overly complex, but not unexpected for a lower proof bourbon.
Closing Thoughts
This collaboration was the first we’d heard of Bluebird Distilling in Pennsylvania. It is very impressive to see that they are producing a nice, 6+ year old bourbon with super traditional bourbon notes. This is a celebrity whiskey that is done right; dare we say, it hits all the right ‘notes’. We look forward to trying more whiskies from the folks at Bluebird Distilling in the future.
