Cedar Ridge Distillery Names New Master Distiller

Murphy Quint been promoted to the role of Master Distiller of Cedar Ridge Distillery. Murphy is the successor to his father, Jeff Quint, who founded the company in 2005.

Cedar Ridge is a craft distillery based in Swisher, Iowa, just outside of Cedar Rapids. The Spirits Business reported on Friday that Cedar Ridge has a new Master Distiller and he is no stranger to the distillery. In addition to his new role master distiller, Murphy Quint will continue as Director of Operations at Cedar Ridge Distillery. Founder and CEO Jeff Quint also announced that Jamie Siefken, General Manager and Executive Vice-President, has been promoted to President and General Manager. Both promotions are effective immediately.

Building Cedar Ridge with my wife Laurie has been the greatest achievement of my career. We’re proud we’ve been embraced by the local Iowa community and that our products have won over the taste buds of whiskey enthusiasts across the country.

We’re especially proud our son Murphy will take over as the second-generation master distiller and know that the distillery is poised for continued growth under an experienced executive team being led by Jamie Siefken.

Jeff Quint, Founder

Cedar Ridge Distillery is highly regarded in the American craft whiskey movement and is a member of the American Single Malt Whiskey Commission seeking to recognize American Single Malt as an official “Standard of Identity” at the federal level. Cedar Ridge has distribution in 32 states through its partnership with Chopin Imports. Cedar Ridge Bourbon has also become the best-selling bourbon in Iowa.

Murphy Quint has been instrumental in developing relationships to expand the distillery’s footprint through the development of special projects. In addition to its core lineup of whiskies, Cedar Ridge has partnered with award-winning brands such as Lost Lantern, Beverly Spirits, and Slipknot for a line of No. 9 whiskies.

It’s an incredible honour to receive the title of master distiller. While this badge bears my name, it wouldn’t exist without the unwavering support and dedication of the entire Cedar Ridge operations team. Their passion fuels mine, and together we’ll write a bold new chapter in our whiskey legacy.

About Cedar Ridge Distillery

The Quint family has farmed and distilled spirits for generations. In 2005, Jeff Quint founded Cedar Ridge because he believed it was time for Iowa–the number one corn-producing state in the U.S.–to share its homegrown Bourbon Whiskey with the world. Cedar Ridge was the first licensed distillery in Iowa since Prohibition.

After releasing its first batch of whiskey in 2010, Cedar Ridge Distillery quickly became a nationally recognized leader in craft spirits, winning multiple awards such as American Distilling Institute’s “2017 Distiller of the Year” or “Best American Craft Whiskey” at the 2016 New York World Spirits Competition.
