Chivas Regal and Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc have unveiled a new 16-year-old Scotch whisky collaboration inspired by Leclerc’s iconic racing number.
Chivas Regal and Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc have unveiled Chivas Regal 16 Limited-Edition, a new 16-year-old blended Scotch whisky developed in collaboration with Chivas Regal Master Blender Sandy Hyslop.
The release marks the first 16-year-old expression tied directly to Leclerc and was created around the number 16, which the Ferrari driver has used throughout his racing career.
Blend Built Around 16 Aged Whiskies
According to Chivas Regal, the whisky is composed of 16 different whiskies, each matured for at least 16 years. During the blending process, Leclerc reportedly gravitated toward sherry cask-matured Longmorn single malt, which became a key influence on the final expression.
The project included Leclerc traveling to Scotland to work directly with Hyslop and experience the whisky-making process firsthand.
Tasting Notes and Production Details
Chivas Regal describes the whisky as opening with aromas of mandarin, raisins, manuka honey, cinnamon, and sticky toffee. The palate reportedly includes orange marmalade, apple cake, toasted oak, and ginger spice before a long, velvety finish.
Leclerc stated, “16 has always been more than a number to me – it’s something I’ve carried my whole career. Going to Scotland, seeing the distilleries, understanding the obsession behind every cask inspired me to create my own blend.”
Hyslop added, “Charles didn’t just put his name to this. He was in the room, making decisions, pushing back. What we’ve created together is a blend that’s unmistakably his and unmistakably ours.”
Miami Grand Prix Debut
The whisky was officially introduced in Miami ahead of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, where Leclerc and Hyslop discussed the creative process behind the collaboration and the philosophy that shaped the blend.

Chivas Regal 16 Limited-Edition will be available through Amazon and select retailers with a suggested retail price of £64 in the UK and $69.99 in the United States.
