New Limited-Edition Bourbon Celebrates a Legendary Horse Racing Achievement.

Hallowed Spirits Company, in collaboration with Claiborne Farm and the family of Secretariat, has officially launched Thirty-One Lengths Bourbon, a commemorative limited-release Kentucky Straight Bourbon honoring Secretariat’s record-setting 31-length victory in the 1973 Belmont Stakes. The inaugural expression was developed to celebrate one of the most iconic moments in Thoroughbred racing history and preserve the legacy of the legendary racehorse.

Partnership Brings Together Key Stewards of Secretariat’s Legacy

The project was developed through a partnership involving Hallowed Spirits Company, Claiborne Farm, the Tweedy family, and Holotype Studio. Claiborne Farm, where Secretariat is buried, played a central role in the collaboration, while the Tweedy family—descendants of Secretariat owner Penny Chenery—helped connect the release to the horse’s enduring story. The bourbon was bottled by The Blending House in Shelbyville, Kentucky.

Aged 15 Years and Bottled at 100 Proof

Thirty-One Lengths Bourbon is a 15-year-old Kentucky bourbon bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). The release is positioned as a highly limited collectible offering, with bottles retailing for $1,500 each. Availability is limited and purchases are offered directly to consumers through the brand’s website, subject to applicable regulations and inventory.

Claiborne Farm and Tweedy Family Reflect on Secretariat’s Legacy

“It’s a unique way to celebrate one of the most remarkable performances in Thoroughbred racing and ensure his legacy continues to resonate with future generations,” said Walker Hancock, President of Claiborne Farm.

“The Secretariat story has been intertwined with Claiborne Farm every step of the way, from foaling to gravesite. There’s no better symbol of that connection than his epic Belmont victory. Hallowed Spirits’ 31 Length Bourbon offers a new way to toast this historic event, and its beautifully crafted bottle will be a keepsake for years,” said John Tweedy, son of Penny Chenery Tweedy.

Limited Availability Through Direct-to-Consumer Sales

The release is available in limited quantities through direct-to-consumer sales at the brand’s website. According to the company, bottles will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
