Limited 160-Bottle Pursuit Rye Anchors 2026 Whiskey Row Selection

Pursuit Spirits has been named the featured producer for the 2026 Whiskey Row Series, an annual private selection organized by John Shumake. The series brings together industry figures in Louisville to mark the spring season and the city’s racing calendar.

For 2026, the selection committee chose to feature rye whiskey rather than bourbon, citing Pursuit Spirits’ reputation for rye blending.

Selection Details and Collaborators

The final selection is a Pursuit United Double Oaked Rye, chosen from a single barrel (ID: 11CF-A-06-TB). The panel included representatives from Watch Hill Proper, Kentucky Bourbon Festival, Justin’s House of Bourbon, and Doc Crow’s, along with members of Pursuit Spirits.

The whiskey incorporates a custom “Tobacco” toasted stave profile from Independent Stave Company, marking only the second time this profile has been used in the Pursuit United Double Oak Rye program and the first time it has been made publicly available.

Production and Flavor Profile

Bottled at 108 proof, the release underwent a secondary maturation process using the toasted stave profile. According to the company, the whiskey presents notes of black walnut, maple, and sweet cherry pipe tobacco, followed by a finish with toasted oak.

The profile was developed to align with the spring season and the Whiskey Row Series theme.

Availability and Pricing

A total of 160 bottles were produced for the 2026 Whiskey Row Series release. The Pursuit United Double Oak Rye will be available beginning April 22, 2026, at a suggested retail price of $69.99.

Bottles will be sold at Pursuit Spirits on Whiskey Row, as well as at Doc Crow’s, Justin’s House of Bourbon, and select Cox’s and Evergreen retail locations in Louisville.

Industry Commentary

John Shumake commented on the selection, stating, “The Whiskey Row Series is about showcasing the best of what our city’s whiskey scene has to offer as the horses return to the track. Pursuit Spirits is doing incredible things with their blending program right now. The committee was unanimous in the decision. The rye is exceptional and we knew it had to be the choice for 2026.”
