CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 23, 2026) — Oaklore Distilling Co., the Charlotte-based distillery that has captured national attention since its 2024 debut, continues its breakout run with the launch of two new expressions in its acclaimed “Story Series.” The spring 2026 releases include the Old Fashioned Finished Four Grain Bourbon and the Port Cask Finished Four Grain Bourbon.

Both expressions begin with Oaklore’s signature six-year-old four-grain bourbon mash bill (corn, rye, wheat, and malted barley). Under the direction of Co-Founder Thomas Bogan, select barrels from North Carolina and Kentucky are batched and re-barreled for an additional 12 to 18 months before undergoing their final unique finishes.

The Old Fashioned Finished Bourbon (98 proof) spent 18 months in barrels previously used for Oaklore’s signature cocktail mixer, yielding notes of orange bitters, snickerdoodle, and vanilla. The Port Cask Finished Bourbon (92 proof) rested in freshly dumped domestic port wine barrels, offering a profile of dark fruit, cherry, and sweet oak.

“These releases represent everything Oaklore stands for—patience, creativity, and a deep respect for the craft,” said Co-Founder Matt Simpkins. “Each finishing process was chosen to tell a different story while letting the underlying bourbon shine.”
